The lodge is centrally situated in the picturesque town of Montagu. It consists of a 100 year old Victorian house with large comfortable rooms; a coach house converted into a quaint self-catering apartment full of character and an additional self-catering apartment ideal for couple or small groups of friends. The lodge consists of three double/twin rooms all en-suite, self-catering family cottage, self-catering apartment, sparkling swimming pool and an ample off street parking.
Koo Karoo Guest Lodge offers: Restaurants and all other amenities are within easy walking distance, pool situated in the secluded garden, patio overlooking the garden and a braai/barbecue area available to all guests.
Montagu is located on the famous Route 62 which provides a scenic alternative for travellers between Cape Town and the Garden Route. Montagu is a peaceful town steeped in history and is renowned for its spectacular rock formations, fruit orchards, vineyards and healing hot springs. There are also attractive hiking trails, wonderful rock climbing sites and a nature garden.
Two museums reflect the history of the vicinity and an herb garden contains a large number of medicinal plants found in the area. Montagu is known for its muscatel wine and four wine cellars in and around the town produces an assortment of excellent wines.
The tractor ride to the top of the Langeberg outside the town is an unforgettable experience. The healthy, unpolluted, dry air makes for a much sought after climate. The Koo Valley, known for its fresh and dried fruit, is situated near the town. Montagu is only two hours' drive from Cape Town and within easy reach of the coast.
