Kosi Bay Lodge Private Chalets resides within the original Kosi Bay Lodge premises, a lodge that has been running for more than 20 years. Kosi Bay Lodge Private Chalets are privately owned, rustic self-catering chalets that form part of the cohesive Kosi Bay Lodge operations located in Kosi Bay, KwanGwanase. The privately owned chalets consist of either Twin Units sleeping between four to six persons, or Triplet Units sleeping between four to eight people.

Full board or self-catering options are available and all chalets have fully equipped kitchens with private barbecues and access to the boma areas. Accent is on comfort and informal service and attention; our friendly staff are always on hand to assist with information and arranging outings. For the adventurous, there are numerous activities and excursions that fully utilize the many resources available.

Kosi Bay is a place where fishermen can revere their surroundings, with kingfish, queen fish, stumpnose, shad, grunter, mullet and garrick being just a fraction of what is available from the waters of this region. While Kosi Bay has such wonders as the two-armed mudskipper fish and the one-armed fiddler crab, nearby Ndumo Game Reserve sports rather larger wonders of the animal kingdom, including rhino, giraffe, warthog, zebra, kudu, nyala and impala, as well as over 400 bird species.

KOSI BAY LODGE PRIVATE CHALETS REVIEWS (76%)

We spent one night at the Lodge The chalet was lovely and in a stunning setting. Everything one required was provided for in terms of the bedding, kitchen utensils etc. Enoch at reception was helpful. I think most visitors have said it before, the Lodge holds much potential but lacks hands on management. Downsides: The road was dreadful and signposting abysmal. The restaurant was a disaster, they did not have 80% of what was on the menu and no selection on wine. Again as others have mentioned, there was no forewarning of it being cash only (in this age of technology?). Our waitress was friendly enough but her attention to detail was poor - she got half the order wrong, and disappeared once the food was served. While we appreciate it was the middle of the week, and there were very few patrons, it is attention to detail and consistency that most of us look for in service - and this was nill. Kosi bay and surrounds are very pretty, but there is no drive for encouraging tourism at all. there is no signposting for anything. Most tourist spots are controlled by the parksboard and you have to drive about 15km on a really bad road to get permits which are only valid for one day and can only be purchased on the day. Nice Lodge, beautiful surrounds, very poor tourism management in Kosi Bay.

The staff are extremely friendly + professional. The chalets are beautiful + well-equipped. However, our private unit had electrical problems due to bad + unsafe wiring, leading to the power tripping every 10 minutes. We ended up having to turn the power off for the rest of our stay after a bathroom light caused a small fire + dangerous fumes. It was a pity, as it really is a lovely spot.

Excellent service by

I totally enjoyed my time at this establishment. I found getting to the surrounding nature attractions difficult on short notice

Enjoyable weekend away by

We enjoyed our stay here. Positives; clean, fully equipped kitchen, friendly maid and gardener who cleaned thouroughly every day, amazing location with private pool. Negatives; reception staff had a bit of an attitude, we were originally not given the chalet we had booked and it took some convincing to swap the keys, we were not prewarned about the need for a bakkie / 4x4 to arrive at the destination
