Wilderness Safaris Kulala Desert Lodge

Kulala Desert Lodge is situated within the arid Namib Desert on the private Kulala Wilderness Reserve, providing convenient private access to the iconic red dunes of Sossusvlei. The camp comprises thatched and canvas kulalas with en-suite bathrooms and verandahs. Each room is built on a wooden platform to catch the cooling breezes and has a deck on the flat rooftop where bedrolls are placed for guests to sleep under the myriad stars of Namibia's clear skies.

The main area, with décor inspired by northern Africa, features a lounge, pub, dining area, plunge pool, and wraparound deck overlooking the waterhole. The waterhole in front of camp attracts a variety of local wildlife and provides a perfect location to view and photograph the desert scenery.

Early morning guided nature drives to the world-famous dunes of Sossusvlei are through an exclusive private gate, and nature drives and walks are also offered on the private reserve. Another option at an extra cost, is early morning hot-air ballooning offering the truly unique experience of soaring silently above the magnificent sand dunes and desert.

Please note rates provided are valid for all SADC residents living in the SADC countries at the time of booking and travel, and for a minimum of 6 months per year. We may request proof of residency upon booking and/or check-in.
