Peace & Serenity by

I loved walking and being left a welcome bottle of white Klein Zalze wine as well as a fruit bowl filled with fresh seasonal fruits. The wooden look and feel mixed with modern pieces just relaxed my senses and set the mood for a peaceful and relaxing breakaway from the city noise. The deck outside, sitting poolside, with an incredible view of the wide open ocean was a picture of pure bliss. Definitely a home away from home...

Peaceful location, but pictures are a bit deceiving by

We booked a weekend with my family from Durban. We were 4 adults and 2 kids (7 and 6 year old boys). When we arrived at the house, the first thought that came to mind it that the pictures are a bit deceiving. Below are the positives and negatives that you need to know before booking. Positive: 1. The area is very peaceful and we had a relaxing weekend. 2. Good wifi connection and TV/DSTV really helped with the kids. 3, Was lovely to get a bottle of wine and a fruit basket, thank you. 4. The cleaning fee is included in your stay so it was nice to get the house cleaned everyday. Negatives: 1. No toaster in kitchen, so was a bit difficult to make breakfast. 2. The braai stand is really bad. It is old, very rusty, small and has holes in it, so it was very difficult for the wood/coal to stay in the braai stand. It just kept on falling through. The griddle was very dirty and full of grime and old fat from meat. I had to ask the housekeeper to clean it. 3. There is a gas heater but it has no gas and it very rusty and old and looks very bad. 4. We were 2 couples with 2 kids, so was a bit disappointed to see only one double bed, with the rest of the beds being single beds. It would have been good to know this before hand. 5. The pictures on the website shows a trampoline and soccer nets, which was one of the reasons we booked the place as it looked very child friendly. But when we arrived the housekeeper told us it is broken. The kids were very disappointed. 6. The high chairs and table in the kitchen is very uncomfortable for kids to sit on and have their meals. People who come with kids need to know this. It is not a normal dining room table. 7. The pool is quite dirty. 8. The deck by the pool is very dangerous as the wood is sticking out and it has a few holes. Not very safe for the kids. 9. The grass is very badly kept. 10. The showers have grime and are not cleaned properly. 11. The carpets and sofas are dirty and full of stains. 12. The pathway to the beach is a lovely walk, but not for kids as it is quite steep and dangerous. 13. There is no fireplace inside or outside the house. The house is cosy and has a rustic look with all the wood. If you are someone who prefers a more modern look, then this place is not for you. Also it just feels like it needs a good spring clean.
