However the position was good with easy access to most venues in Knysna. The staff were very friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. Irene Venter, South Africa 03 April 2016 Irene from AlbertonWE booked for fives day's at the Lagoon Breeze, sorry to say this but we were very disappointed in the place he put us in,the room was tiny and you felt very closterfobic, when we approach the owner about it his comment was if you don't like it go find a nother place to stay, the only little Window we had looked straight on to a brick wall,to stay in a little room for five days is disgusting, and he was not prepared to accommodate us in any way,we did find another place to stay after two days.
ESTABLISHMENT RESPONSE:
On arrival (22nd March) I greeted Mr. Venter as my lady welcomed them to our establishment. After they were taken to their room to settle in, my lady contacted me to let me know that Mr. Venter was not entirely happy with the room that they were placed in. I then went to speak to Mr. Venter myself and he was telling me that the room was too small for his liking. As it was over the Easter Weekend we were fully booked and I only had our Penthouse (A unit with 2 double rooms, private lounge & dining area & private balcony and a beautiful view of the Lagoon) available for 2 out of the 5 days that they were going to stay. I took Mr. Venter to the unit and showed it to him, offering him to stay there for the 2 days. He said that they would love to stay in the Penthouse. I explained that this unit was an extra R500-00 per night. He was then not happy with the unit anymore, but decided to think about it and told me that he would come back to me.
I saw them both at breakfast on the third day of their stay and asked how they were doing and if they were still happy. Mr. Venter replied that they were happy and left our establishment with the key to their room. When they did not return the same night I realized that they had gone to make a booking elsewhere. When he returned the key to me on the last day that they were supposed to stay, I told him that if he had told me sooner that they were going to look for alternative accommodation I would have gladly refunded their monies as I had walk-in customers who I had to turn away due to not having any available rooms. I did explain to him that the pictures advertised on our, and all the websites that we advertise on, shows the rooms Exactly as they are. We have not changed the room sizes.
We have different rooms (sizes and bathrooms) for the liking of many different customers. We have all our rooms displayed on the websites and different rooms are charged at different rates. One cannot expect to stay in a Penthouse, that houses 4 people and have the luxury of a private lounge/dining area, full bathroom with a Jacuzzi bath & private balcony for the same rate as a standard double room accommodation. We are very sad that Mr. Venter chose not to communicate properly and have the problem sorted out straight away. That way they would have been able to seek more suitable accommodation elsewhere and received their money back from us and we would have been able to have other guests stay at our establishment. By placing a negative review when you have chosen not to communicate while you were not happy is an unfortunate outcome to a problem with a very simple solution. I am also unhappy that Mrs. Venter felt the need to say that I was not helpful, when in fact I tried my best in a situation where we were fully booked.
