Lake Glencairn is situated 7 kilometres outside of Himeville on the Sani Pass Road with a large lake that covers 40 hectares, a stone's throw away from the accommodation. Set on a farm which has the Pholela River running through it, making it ideal for lake and river fishing right on your doorstep. The farm has a variety of game animals on the property. Enjoy onsite activities such as horse riding, tubing, trail running, walking around the dam and along the river or even take a canoe and row on the dam. LAKE GLENCAIRN REVIEWS (47 %) Carey Kennard, South Africa 10 August 2016 apart from us not getting the unit we booked for, our stay was fantastic, our hosts very friendly. accomodation was comfortable but would recommend that electric blankets or heaters be put in the units that dont have fire places. We will definitely be back Hope for the future of this beautiful place by Penelope Letley 25 September 2018 Please accept that this is objective criticism. The venue is a farm which recently changed hands and the new owners have a great deal of work on their hands attending to a good deal of neglect all round. In fact the current accommodation, which has a number of problems, will in time be demolished and new chalets built in a different area, so one can understand that not much money is being spent on what is there now. However there are a number of small things that can be done to improve the experience of visitors. It is only comfortable if you are going to be out all day fishing or in other activities in the district. The staff are very pleasant and kind but it seems not well trained and not checked on by someone who knows what is required in hospitality, and the farm manager, who responds well to requests, is extremely hard-working and busy with many things. We met the charming owners who offered us another stay at another time in compensation but when we will have that opportunity I don't know. We could say a lot more in detail but perhaps the best suggestion is that someone responsible for the letting should do an inspection! ... adequate crockery and cutlery, plugs in both sinks, maybe for the time being change the second tiny bedroom into a lounge so that the small lounge space could have a small diningroom table instead of the table outside on the 'verandah' which leaks ferociously??
