Lewa House is located in the very heart of the Lewa Wildlife Conservancy. This small, owner-run lodge offers unique access to all corners of this world-renowned conservation area. Perched on the crest of a hill, Lewa House looks out over a range of ecosystems that make up the protected area and offers excellent access to all aspects of this rich wildlife arena. Through a range of authentic activities, guests are able to unlock and understand what is being achieved here.
The cottage-style rooms are spread out along the hillside, all looking to the expanse of wilderness to the north. There are three family-style rustic cottages, each comprising of two elegantly furnished en-suite rooms and a large shared verandah. The cottages are built with sustainable, ecological principles in mind whilst being exceptionally comfortable and spacious, with wonderful views across the surrounding landscape.
The central area is a large elegant building with an open fireplace at one end where guests can relax during the day and mingle with a drink before dinner, and at the other end is a large family dining table where evening meals are served. There is also a large shaded veranda extending away from the main lodge with a comfortable seating area from which you can enjoy a cool afternoon drink and soak in the very special atmosphere of Lewa House.
Beautiful shaded gardens surround the lodge and breakfast or lunch is often served on the lawn. The lodge also has a large swimming pool which overlooks a waterhole, often providing some of the best game-viewing on Lewa.
Lewa House offers a diverse range of activities, including game drives, game walks, horse riding, camel rides, cultural trips to the local Ngwesi Village, and scenic biplane flights.
