LXIXKommetjie, Western Cape, South Africa Self-catering (family units from R 7,562) | R 7,562 |
If you're planning a stay in Cape Town, there are two things you have to decide - where to stay and what to do. The first is easy - Kommetjie has become the hottest location in Cape Town in recent years due to its charm and unspoilt beauty - something which has become increasingly hard to find elsewhere. Perhaps this is why SafariNow, with its unrivalled knowledge of South Africa, chose to base itself in Kommetjie! LXIX is a simply stunning thatched house on Long Beach in Kommetjie, opposite the famous Sunset Reef. It has a huge 64 square metre living room with a double storey vaulted ceiling, four bedrooms and a small cottage. There is also a double garage for two cars and racks to store surfboards, and windsurfing kit. As the house is on the top of a dune, you can sit in the shade and enjoy the stunning views from the large terrace, relax around the pool or step straight onto the beach. Alternatively watch the whales, seals, kitesurfers and surfers from the huge elevated deck, from where you can see Hout Bay, Chapmans Peak and Table Mountain, or entertain on the large patio with its built in braai (BBQ). The house sleeps up to 8 people. The master bedroom has a travertine en-suite and the doors onto the deck allow you to lie in bed and watch the waves breaking on the beach outside. At 7 metres long it is also large enough to accommodate a separate single bed for those with young children. There are two further double rooms, one of which opens onto the patio, and both have wonderful sea views. Finally there is a single room with a three quarter bed. As for all the things you can do in Cape Town, we've been coming here on holiday for over a decade, and love the place so much we've emigrated, so we look forward to telling you all about them!
