Mabuda FarmSiteki, , Swaziland Backpacker, Self-catering from R 60 (family units from R 2,685) | R 60 |
Mabuda Farm is a tranquil farm found on top the beautiful Lebombo Mountains, truly a place where time stands still. The wind whispers tales of forgotten colonial days and the dust clouds drift like shadows behind the old Ford tractors. Mabuda House was built in the early 1930s, and has been farmed for over 100 years.
There is something for everyone to enjoy, from horse riding to fantastic birding amidst spectacular views where you are sure to find yourself captivated. Swaziland has magnificent mountain scenery with unique, ancient rock formations which are a source of fascination for geologists and scholars.
Choose from our traditional 1930s-style thatched rondavels with authentic period décor, or one of our thatched chalets which can accommodate up to four guests each. We also offer facilities for up to 12 backpackers, three campsites with water, electricity, braai facilities and clean and tidy ablutions.
Mabuda Farm is an ideal place for horse riding, with many fields and roads for you to enjoy. Mabuda is also the ideal setting for that special weekend, a few days away from it all. A place for groups to meet up on the way to Mozambique or the perfect stopover en-route north, to the Kruger Park.
There are no TVs, bar or restaurant available on the farm. Activities include the dairy and milking, walks to the lilly pond, bird walks, maize growing, harvesting, a storage and milling tour, a guided tour of the main house by arrangement, bike riding, the swimming pool and exploration of Grandpa's Secret Garden hidden in the thick bush and tucked away into the eastern valley of Mabuda Farm.
