Machweo Retreat

Machweo is perched on a hill offering beautiful views across the Maasai steppe, overlooking the Monduli Mountains. Machweo is the place to relax and rejuvenate before or after a Tanzanian safari or a Kilimanjaro climb.

We offer six beautiful rooms and three tastefully decorated suites. All the rooms have top-quality amenities with private balconies and lovely views over Mount Meru. Breakfast, lunch and dinner is served in the Machweo main building, or guests can choose to sit either inside or outside on the balcony.

Our wellness spa's facilities include a steam bath, a sauna and a separate swimming pool. Enjoy a variety of treatments and relaxing body massages in the Hippo Pool Banda, around the swimming pool or in your own room.

Your hosts will be happy to share their in-depth local knowledge of the area, and can provide tips on cultural visits around Arusha and community development projects.
