Get set for a wild ride on safari in Kenya, where nature always has the last word. This most awe-inspiring of landscapes is the setting for Mahali Mzuri, Sir Richard Branson's tented camp in a pristine part of the African bush. Positioned within the Maasai Mara ecosystem, this is the place to be for a front row view of the abundant game in the area. The camp is also in the path of the world-famous annual Great Migration.

Mahali Mzuri is located in the Motorogi Conservancy and there are 13,500 hectares of bush to explore along with the neighbouring Olare Orok Conservancy. Against the backdrop of a valley and sprawling plains as far as the eye can see, visitors to Mahali Mzuri can expect exciting game drives with experienced guides, delicious meals, a cosy and relaxing atmosphere at our camp and in a uniquely designed, spacious and luxurious tent.

Mahali Mzuri has an open 4x4 Land Cruiser vehicles, seating a maximum of six guests and there are early morning and late afternoon game drives. Night game drives will also be available and can be arranged by guests whilst at Mahali Mzuri. Safari Walks can also been arranged, and will be tailored specifically to the guests. They usually last around two hours and focus on the plant life and smaller game.

The central Main Tent features a main lounge area with an open fireplace, a library of books, iPads for guest use, iPod docking stations and speaker systems, a games console and a TV with DVD player for those who wish to keep in touch with the news or sport. Binoculars are available for guests and a telescope for stargazing. The 12 metre outdoor infinity pool is big enough for a leisurely swim or a refreshing dip. There is also a large decked area where breakfast and lunch are usually served and a communal table inside seating 24.

The camp offers 12 unique tented suites sleeping a maximum of 24 guests at any time. The tents are perched on a ridge looking over the valley with a distinctive design adapted to the local climate and terrain. There are six tents on either side of the Main Tent, each accessible by a shared walkway, the furthest of which is approximately a 5 minute walk from the Main Tent. Ten of the 12 tents are designed to sleep two adults and all can be split into twin beds. The remaining two tents are configured so that the sitting area is enclosed with fold-out sofa beds accommodating up to two additional guests.

You certainly won't go hungry; from early morning snacks prior to game drives to multiple course menus in the evening the food served at Mahali Mzuri will be one of the highlights of your stay. At breakfast a continental buffet will be served with hot dishes available à-la-carte, and guests typically share tables; it's a great time to chat with your fellow travellers about the wildlife you saw earlier that morning. Lunch is normally served on the main deck with individual tables and guests can order from the à-la-carte menu. Dinner could be around a large communal table, out in the bush or somewhere private just for two.
