Majuli River Lodge

Majuli River Lodge

Marloth Park Conservancy, Mpumalanga, South Africa
Self-catering (family units from R 1,500)
R 1,500

Awaken to the sound of Africa as our resident pair of fish eagles proclaim this stretch of river as their own and the hippo settle back into the river. Relax over breakfast and enjoy the views as the animals come down to the river in front of you. Expect regular visits from elephant, buffalo, rhino and water buck while you prepare for your day ahead.

Majuli River Lodge is a cosy two-bedroom house with a large deck and over 2 km of uninterrupted Kruger National Park and Crocodile River views. It is a perfect base for starting your trips into Mpumalanga's highlights such as God's Window and the Blyde River Canyon. Nights are spent either at the fire pit enjoying a braai or on the deck listening to the night sounds. Expect to hear the calls of the hippo, the sound of the hyena and the thrilling and unmistakable call of the lions.

Plan your trip into the Kruger National Park or spend the day in Marloth Park itself and experience a real bush experience on a guided bush walk with Mike, our local tracker. It is a real treat for birdwatchers and guests can visit our fenced private reserve to find the ruling pride of lions. You can simply relax on the deck with a good book while keeping an eye on the river activity and awaiting regular visits in the garden from zebra, warthogs and even giraffe.

A weekend at Majuli Lodge by

As promised, we saw a wide range of animals on our doorstep at Majuli Lodge. This started with a herd of buffalo on our arrival, and a herd of elephants bathing in the river when we left! Majuli Lodge really is a great place to relax and watch some beautiful sunsets, with the silhouettes of elephants in the foreground! Just wish we could have stayed longer .....

Peace and Quiet by

We enjoy it very much, the deck was a very nice place to sit on in the afternoons and just staring out over the river.

Holiday at Majuli River Lodge by

Our stay at Majuli River Lodge was amazing. The white towels as well as the hot water were to die for.A lovely modern fridge.Of course the extended deck and the glass doors were superb.I would only recommend visitors to take a microwave dish with ; apart from that everything else is supplied .I would recommend it to everybody ; if you are looking for a little bit of paradise in the mad , hectic world we are living in.An excellent place to become one with nature and to bond with family again.

Perfect view!! by

The Majuli River Lodge is an excellent place to view lots of game from the upper deck. The furniture at the upper deck is basic. Al made of wood with a nice outdoor look, but not really comfortable. The couch is nice to sit on but to low to see the game at the river. The two bar seats give you the perfect view on the river but need Something to put your feet on. There is everyting you need for your holidays and the personal attention of the housekeeper is very friendly. From here it is a 20 min drive to the gate at Crocodile Bridge.
From the deck we saw lots of elephants, buffalo, fish eagle, storks, herrons, geese, waterbuck etc.
