Excellent stay

Absolutely refreshing and enjoyed tranquility. Access to the park daily should automatically be included in the purchase price as I felt that was hidden costs. Beautiful place none the less.

Awesome view, mediocre food by

My family and I had a road trip to Lesotho. As my sister in law has a gluten allergy , we made a reservation weeks in advance and stated this. When we arrived at the lodge, they had no record of our reservation even though I have it in writing. We had to argue for a seat in the restaurant, the chef was very dismissive and tried to blame Safarinow.com for the mix up when I dealt with them directy. When we eventually sat down, the food took forever to be served. The chef came to us to tell my sister that someone had accidentally squashed the gluten free bread so there was none!We were also told we couldn't order the main course from the menu and that it had to come from the bistro's menu. Note that this is a "5 star" restaurant. Then the dessert we ordered, was not the dessert from the menu, the waiter didn't even know what was served by then the chef had already left. Although the experience of day 1 was negative, the owner was on site and he was very professional and apologetic. He did his best to make things right and he gave us a complimentary breakfast. Don't get me wrong the lodge is absolutely stunning with it's beautiful surroundings but the service we got that day was not good at all. We would've appreciated an apology from the chef but he did his best to avoid us. Thank you to the owner for making our stay more pleasant after the bad experience.

Beautiful River Cottage by

A beautiful location which is well with the drive to reach it. The views of the mountains from the deck of the Mountain Lodge and the views of the river from the River Cottages will leave you speechless. Very well kept and clean accomadation. The only strange thing was that it seemed that the braai facility was shared between the four River lodges. Otherwise the cottages are well stocked themselves with everything you need for you stay.
