Mara West Camp borders the remote western edge of Masai Mara National Reserve, set against a wooded thicket and surrounded by savannah.
The camp has beautiful tents perched in secluded spots that offer panoramic views and a sense of exclusive privacy. There are eight tented chalets and six traditional safari tents. The tented chalets are a unique combination of canvas and solid building materials, and the traditional safari tents are built of canvas.
Meals are served in the Kingfisher Dining Lodge or out on the Kingfisher's large veranda, with a wide view of the savannah. There is an abundance of bird life and is visited regularly by a variety of wildlife passing through.
Activities in the camp include game viewing, walking tours accompanied by a guide, and traditional dances performed by the Maasai dressed in their full traditional regalia.
Guests enter the park through the Oloololo Gate and safari throughout the Transmara side of the park. Guests often fly in to the nearby airstrip or travel by road in 4×4 vehicles specially outfitted for safaris.
