Marlene's Guesthouse offers comfortable accommodation near the main route through Volksrust. The accommodation is provided in seven comfortable rooms. The rooms are ideal for families, couples and business travellers with breakfast and dinner available on request.

The guest house has six rooms sleeping two people and four family rooms sleeping up to five people. All the rooms are equipped with bedding, ceiling fans, tea and coffee making facilities, a fridge, and a toaster. Each room is individually decorated and have a private door leading out into the garden.

The property has secure parking behind remote controlled gates. The large garden has braai facilities and a large lawn which is covered with snow in winter.

I find the photo's on the website misleading. I should've read the reviews.
The overall look of the guesthouse seemed neglected. Bedding was dusty,  the matresses uncomfortable and 2 pipes stuck out of the wall where my child had to sleep. The kettle's cord didnt reach the electic socket, so the kettle had to be placed on the floor to be boiled. The bedlamp didnt work. 
Positives are that there were enough beds, bathroom was clean, towels were provided, and  enough cupboards to store clothes. Thanks.

It was comfortable, well heated due to very cold weekend, hot water in the taps and the DSTV channel.

Next time rather stay at different place. I booked for two people but unit was prepared for one person. No waste bin in room. Bath towel was no bigger than hand towel . Taps need urgent attention. No credit card facility, trade in cash only, had to ask for bank details to do eft .coffee and tea in room had to ask for. No secure parking gate stayed open all night
