Marlu Farmstay and Camping offers lovely accommodation options, amid the beauty and serenity of the Groot River mountains within the Karoo region. Marlu is a nature-lover's paradise, situated halfway between Steytlerville and Willowmore, off the R329 with easy access for sedan cars. Whether you're a hiker, biker, or a 4x4 enthusiast, this Karoo outdoor experience will delight you with its diversity. We offer two spacious, fully equipped restored farmsteads comprising three- and four-bedroom houses where guests can enjoy complete peace and privacy. The houses are fully furnished and include twin and double beds, private bathrooms, and fitted kitchens for self-catering. Two bedrooms, situated in the main farmhouse, are also available and are perfect for families of four. These two bedrooms comprise twin beds and share a private bathroom.Dinner or breakfast options are available, with our famous Karoo cuisine, and the host herself prepares all meals, adding that special, personal touch. Marlu souvenirs, such as caps, mohair socks, home-made preserves, daily baked farm bread, and Karoo barbecue packs are also available.Experience the fresh air, beauty and peace of the Karoo on this multi-faceted working farm, where the safe roads, crime-free environment and healthy climate will be appreciated by city dwellers. Activities include nature walks and hikes, abseiling, bird-watching, star-gazing, fresh water angling, swimming and rowing, subject to rainfall.

Moonlit camping by

We spent a delightful night under the full moon with only the sounds of birds and insects. This is a delightful, rough, peaceful, beautiful campsite. The hosts are very gracious and hospitable. They know exactly what is needed to make camping comfortable and fun. We made good use of the ample wood supply in the fire pit and donkey.Thanks for sharing your farm.
