Melvilla is a four star guest house located 200 meters away from the famous 7th street in Melville, Johannesburg. We are in a very secure and quiet street offering ample secure parking to ensure you peace and comfort.

We are extremely service orientated, and our dedicated staff will make every possible effort to make your stay with us memorable. We offer a range of services to suit most of your needs: Full laundry, breakfast, for groups meal on request, basic business office, airport pick-up and drop off as well as tour programming.

Melvilla is a place where you can work from or relax in our cozy lounge. We offer wireless Internet access throughout the property and have only two pre paid telephone lines installed. Additional telephone lines, flat screen TV with satellite television and for your convenience, we can communicate in English, French, Portuguese, Afrikaans and Zulu.

Lovely guesthouse by

Guesthouse was absolutely lovely. Room was absolutely immaculate and it really felt like a home from home. Gerald and his wife were perfect hosts and really went out of their way to arrange trips, taxis and airport transfers. The guesthouse is in an exceptionally safe neighbourhood - 7th St is a 2 minute walk away and there are numerous bars and eateries (I'd recommend Cafe Mezzeluna!).

Life in the City of Gold gets a little hectic. Now add frantic last-minute preparations for the world cup on top of the already nightmarish everyday traffic, and you can probably imagine why we were not looking forward to having to do a 3 week long work assignment in and around Jo-burg in April 2010. But staying at Melvilla not only helped to make this trip bearable, but really made us enjoy our time in Melville. Melvilla provided the perfect spot to come home to. A very short walk to 7th Street, yet far enough to not be bothered by the noise of the night life. Excellent breakfast. Very friendly and extremely helpful staff.
