Meremeta Lodge

Meremeta Lodge is located on the outskirts of the local village Utende, just a couple of hundred metres outside the marine park entrance, on Mafia Island, Tanzania. It is only a few minutes ride, on one of Meremetas mountain bikes, to some of the most beautiful white sand beaches in the whole of Mafia.

If you are looking for clean and comfortable, spacious rooms with western-style en-suites, based in a cosy tropical island feel, with a friendly local village atmosphere, then Meremeta Lodge is the place to be.

Meremeta Lodge is also the hub of many local business activities. The lodge is set on a beautiful piece of land, surrounded by coconut palms, various fruit and vegetable trees and plantations, and a variety of farm animals, that get used, not only to supply you with freshest of produce for your meals, but we also supply most of the other resorts and businesses in the area as well.

Meremeta is also the local petrol station, so it is always easy to obtain some form of transport.

Mafia Island is one of those places of adventure, discovery and tranquillity that a lot of other paradises in the world used to be, before too many of the wrong influences got involved in their exploitation.
