Situated on the Indian Ocean as the gateway to the Wild Coast, East London offers unspoilt beaches and lagoons, but also the luxuries of a growing city with shopping centers, hospitals and airports.

We offer suitable accommodation for holidaymakers as well as the business traveller. On offer is a family cottage which is fully self-catered and also En-suite Rooms. All units have fridges with an honesty bar, tea and coffee facilities, microwaves and toasters. All have private entrances and there is off-street parking behind remote gates.

Our reputation is home-from-home personal service. Our guests are not just another stranger, but a friend of the establishment and the family that runs it. We are small enough to remember your name and the special requests you make.

The B&B is close to everything, but down a side crescent which makes it a quiet and tranquil place to be. We offer Wi-Fi, a credit card facility, a map on arrival and a wide smile to make your stay happy and memorable.

Delightful by

Our stay at the Monkey Tree was as always, delightful. The accommodations are clean and affordable, well situated on a quiet street. Sadie is ever the wonderful, hospitable hostess.

Overnight stay that should have been planned for longer by

After an unfortunate accident delayed our trip through the Transkei, we arrived extremely late(23:15) and although we had notified Sadie the reception was still extremely warm and inviting. We were only booked for 1 night and once we woke the following day and able to witness the surrounds, the hospitality and incredible homeliness did we realise we should have considered staying a few more days. The accommodation (1 couple and 3 large sons) was so much nicer than we expected. The pool area and braai lapa looked just fab and we would have loved to have had the chance to relax there for a few more days. Next time it will most certainly be part of my plans.
