Accommodation at Montagu Manor is in true Cape country house style, in a turn of the 20th century Victorian villa with wide wrap-around verandas, fascias of lace and pressed steel or Oregon-beamed ceilings. Owners, Allen and Sherrill Castley, offer comfortable and restful accommodation, old-fashioned hospitality and friendly personal attention.

Guests will be accommodated in tastefully furnished double bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, separate entrances, tea and coffee-making facilities, heating and air-conditioning. We accommodate children with pleasure and we are pet friendly.

A delicious country-style breakfast is served in the spacious dining room. Guests will be centrally situated within walking distance of all amenities and a number of excellent restaurants. The accommodation establishment offers secure off-street parking on the premises.

Very pleasant by

Very pleasant stay, Allen's breakfasts are wonderful, nothing is too much trouble. Sherrill and Allen are a mine of information for the area.

Fair by

Clean and comfortable, but not fancy at all. I don't think it is worth R500 per room per night. But pleasant enough if you are not too fussy. Breakfast was lovely.

The breakfast by

Alan and Sherill are lovely people. Its a charming old house, although does not look so spruced up anymore.Very centrally located, but not in a noisy area. No TV or wi-fi, which is good for some people, but not good if you have teenagers.

Just a stopover by

Only had one night on our way to Calitzdorp but was perfect for a stopover. Very accommodating owners for our late arrival, helpful, friendly, great breakfast.

Unfortunately there was no highlight by

The breakfast was good. The sleeping facility was quite good. The building was not in good repair and welcoming. The behaviour of visitors on the Saturday afternoon left a lot to be desired - the noise level was far, far too high. We paid for our stay, would like to have had a rest but could not.

Nothing by

The place is in a rather bad area and in a state of disrepair. R700 per night is rather expensive for this type of accommodation. Disappointed. To be fair, the owners allowed us to cancel the second night. They were really very nice.

Cozy simple homely atmosphere value for money.

It is a bit dated inside the rooms and outside needs work, the porch timber is rotted and unsafe and there was no soap in the rooms.
