Nestled high up the Kapteinskloof Mountains above the quaint little town of Aurora only 180 kilometres from Cape Town, lies Mountain Mist Private Nature Retreat.


Mountain Mist offers 360 views - over the West Coast Plains to the Atlantic Ocean, reaching all the way to Table Mountain (on a clear day), and out to the Cedarberg. This is the perfect mountain top retreat, an escape from city life offering peace, tranquility and a relaxed atmosphere.

We provide three self-catering wooden cabins - Two four sleepers with shared bathroom and one two-sleeper. In addition, a cottage that sleeps, six to eight people. All you need to bring is towels, firewood, food and drink.

All units are equipped with the necessary amenities required for your convenience and comfort. Electricity, kitchen and bathroom facilities. WI-FI /cellphone reception is available.

Mountain Mist is a birding paradise. Sit back and enjoy the magical symphony of birds and scented fynbos or take a stroll and explore the awesome rock formations.
