Mountain Splendour Eco-Resort is a 4 Star graded camping and caravan eco-resort ideally located in the Champagne Valley. The resort is situated on a farm facing the peaks of Champagne Castle, Cathkin Peak and Sterkhorn. These mountains are located in the Monk's Cowl Reserve, is part of the uKhahlamba-Drakensberg National Park.
The resort offers grass and gravel sites suitable for camping, caravanning, and camper vans. The sites are large and shady and each site has electricity, a braai and a dustbin. We prefer not to have more than six guests per site, but in order to accommodate larger family groups will allow up to eight guests per site.
We offer all guests additional freezer space; there are two large communal freezers for guests convenience located in the laundry at the main ablution. For your convenience we are able to refill you gas bottle on site.
Perhaps most important of all, we provide assistance with setting up your tent or caravan: our team of staff are on hand to assist you with setting up your site while you sit back and enjoy a complimentary cup of tea.
Alternatively, guests can rent out our self-catering Safari Tents or Plettenbergs Self-catering Units. The Glamping Safari Tents feature all bedding, a table and chairs, lights, linen, cutlery and crockery, and a stove and fridge. The tents are serviced daily. The Plettenbergs Self-catering Units feature two separate bedrooms, a lounge, dinette and kitchenette, a toilet, bath, basin and limited DStv. All linen, crockery and cutlery is provided. There are plenty of short walking trails and hikes around the farm. This is also a mountain-bikers heaven and there are nearly 10 km of purpose-built tracks around the property.
