Enjoy sitting on the deck in mid-winter where the temperatures are warm and watch the ?Whale Highway?.

If you want to get even closer, go on a sea safari and observe the whales from a dive boat. Not only will you see whales, but other sea life as well.

From June to November is whale season, and a perfect time to visit Mozambique.

We had an absolute fantastic stay at the Lodge. Friendly, helpful lodge manager Franz was always prepared to help us buy fish and whatever we asked him. The lodge itself was a lovely surprise with spectacular views of the ocean. We will definitely be back next year!!

What a view!!! by

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Ngumula Lodge - one of our best holidays this ever. The house was well equipped and very comfortable. The staff was fantastic - nothing was ever too much trouble. I can honestly say that there was nothing that we could have needed or wanted, which was not already there or brought by Frans and his staff when asked to do so. The fresh seafood was a feast and very well priced. We really had a fantastic time.
The only negative side was that the directions that was supplied to us via SafariNow, was wrong. It took us on completely a different road resulting in our car getting stuck in the sand and arriving about 3 hours later than anticipated, but was Chantel and her husband very helpful in helping us to get back onto the right road. In the struggle to get the car out of the sand, my husband tore his calf muscle and could he not go down to the beach even once as he could not walk on the loose sand down the dune to the beach. This was quite a bummer as he had to sit alone at the house while the kids and I went to the beach and we had to go into town twice to get some medicine and pain killers for him. We will definitely visit Ngumula again.

Dear Noelene,

Thank you for the wonderful review about Ngumula Lodge, and look forward to welcoming you back in the future.
Try the winter months next time, as its still glorious and warm in Mozambique, and the added bonus is that the humpback whales are in the4 bay. Its such a treat.
