The owner was friendly and helpful, the rooms were clean and cosy, and of course, the breakfast was well prepared and delicious ! No highlight by Neels Marais 02 May 2018 I've booked at10 de Laan because off what I saw on the Safari. The pictures they show from outside looks very nice and we took it that all the places looks the same on the inside. When we arrived at 10 de Laan on the 27th and I complete the visitors book, Rachel asked if we booked B&B or Self Catering. for me to put the Room no, I said that I think it was B&B. She then said I must write Flat. She put as in a flat (old outside room with garage) which was nice looking. When I asked about the Room 1 to 4 which you could see on the pictures, she said that is for self catering. The evening when we want to drink coffee, there was no coffee mugs, luckily we had our own mugs. The next morning after breakfast, I went to Rachel and told her that we saw the place with the 1 on the wall (the mail I received from Safari with the booking mention 1 x unit 1, which I assume that it is Unit 1) and that we would like to go into one of those. Shje told me the "flat"is for B&B?? and the "rooms"are for self catering. She opened one of the rooms and show me that there are no kitchen, no fridge, no stove. I then told her that in that case we rather go back to Swakopmund for the last 2 days of our stay in Namibia. How can you stay in a room, self catering, but there are no kitchen, no fridge, no stove or any cutlery, but in the "flat" with B&B included you have the facility of a stove, fridge, stove and all the other equipment.
When I asked her about the "rooms" and availiblity when we arrived she told me it is for self catering, and that her Husband died in the week and she keep it for family who come for the funeral.
I think they should pay us back our money or at least the two nights that we haven't stayed. This is misleading and how can you stay in a room, self catering with no equipment to make food.
I'm waiting for your response. We did find a place at Swakop where we stayed a few days earlier
