The FARM STYLE HOME offers lovely old charm, gorgeous views and is surrounded by citrus orchard's.
The accommodation at A Bird's Eye View offers a spacious yet cozy self-catering, farm-style, home overlooking the Ruigtevlei, near Sedgefield. The property is an ideal escape to the countryside where family and friends can come together on this beautiful location nestled on a hilltop overlooking lakes and mountains. This is a superb base from which to explore our beautiful Garden Route region and enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us.

The home offers three bedrooms and three bathrooms.

All bedrooms are completely private from one another and can be accessed privately from outside if required. This makes it absolutely ideal for a group traveling together that wishes to have some independence in their coming's and going's.

Two bedrooms are large, en-suite, bedrooms with beautiful, solid wood, four-poster, king-size beds (the Fish Eagle and Turaco bedrooms).

The Fish Eagle bedroom is a private suite and absolutely ideal for a couple. This bedroom offers en-suite facilities with a large bath and shower over bath.

The Turaco bedroom is a family room that offers a King size bed as well as two single beds. This bedroom also offers an en-suite bathroom with a bath and a separate walk-in shower.

The Sunbird bedroom is the third bedroom in the home and is sunny and bright. It is a family room offering a double bed and two single beds. The sunbird room has access to private bathroom facilities offering a shower and separate toilet.

The home offers a well-equipped kitchen, with a gas hob and double eye level ovens. Fridge/Freezer, microwave, kettle, coffee machine, toaster, and much more.

We have created a tea and coffee station in the hub of the home which is easily accessible to all guests and will conveniently keep unnecessary traffic out of the kitchen during meal preparation times.

A cosy seating nook and the dining area are positioned near one of the three wood-burning fireplaces in the house.

The bar also offers a designated work/laptop workspace, to the side, where a charging station for mobile phones and laptops is conveniently available. The solid oak pool table, giving a great option for lazy evenings at home, is also in the bar area.

The lounge, which offers a fireplace for cozy cooler evenings, offers beautiful, unobstructed views over the Ruigtevlei and hills and maybe where guests would like to sit and relax with a book or enjoy the views and some family time.

There is a decent size built-in BBQ/braai and outdoor seating area that is set off from the lounge, bar and indoor dining area. Firewood is provided during guest's stay.

Other things to note...
The access road to the property is a bumpy gravel road of approximately 500meteres

Guest's are requested to be conscientious of the environment and wildlife. Be aware of the many tortoises as well as other wildlife as you approach the property and certainly within the property as they can easily be missed. Please drive slowly.

Baboons and Vervet monkeys may pass through the property from time to time. They are wild animals and under no circumstances should you try to interact with them or feed them. We do suggest keeping the windows and doors closed when they are about or when you go out.

The home accommodates a maximum of 10 guests.

The home is not serviced during your stay as we value our guest's privacy and we wish to be conscientious, due to the current pandemic, that we keep our contact with our guests to a minimum. Anita, our live-in cleaning lady is available on request.

Linen & bath towels are provided.

All bedrooms offer a hairdryer.

Small safe

There will be basic toiletries and cleaning materials to get guest's settled in and firewood is provided for during your stay.

We like to offer our guests a welcome package with some goods produced on the farm whether it be Cheryl's freshly baked bread or rusks, her preserves made from produce grown on the farm.

The house offers a washing machine and tumble dryer.

There are two bicycles and a canoe which is available for guests use.

The wine cellar can be made available for use for guest's staying for a period of time.
