In a pristine valley surrounded by the spectacular Langeberg Mountains, lies African Game Lodge, part of a conservation project dedicated to Wildlife Rehabilitation, Awareness and preserving Bio-diversity.

We are conveniently located only 2 and a half hours from Cape Town and a 30 minute drive from picturesque Montagu.

We share our space with a host of animals both big and small. Through careful management of the environment, we are encouraging the return of many endemic species. The reserve has a wealth of bird-life and bio-diversity, offering guests the opportunity to experience the varied yet specialised eco-systems of the Little Karoo.

If you love the environment as much as we do, you will be pleased to know that African Game Lodge is completely off-the-grid. Running an extensive solar system, our sustainable approach ensures that we support local and impact global.

At African Game Lodge, our guests can enjoy nature without expense to the environment through our sustainable approach and off-the-grid solar solution.

African Game Lodge is a private conservation area outside Montagu in the Little Karoo, Western Cape dedicated to preserving the rich biodiversity of the area.

The lodge has traditional Karoo thatch chalets with log fires and private braais. Everything is provided, from towels, bath robes, bathroom toiletries, a tea and coffee tray and cleaning materials.

For a truly special back-to-nature experience you can book into a Private Tented Camp for a romantic time together. Full board and solar powered, the old style Leopard Bush Camp has a romantic four-poster bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower. Wake up to birdsong and sunshine on your balcony as you view the cheetah below.

The Honeymoon Hideaway-Caracal Bush Camp is privately situated in a special wilderness area, complete with sparkling dam. With its hot-water bathroom, a fully-equipped kitchen, a fire pit and a large viewing and braai deck, you'll be spirited away into another world of nature and romance.

Relax and enjoy some of Montagu's finest award-winning wines from the licensed bar while watching the sunset over four thousand hectares of unspoilt flora, fauna and Fynbos. Braai on your stoep while watching the eland go past or share your bread with a friendly ostrich.

Guests can book guided nature and game viewing drives or guided hikes and get close to the indigenous wildlife such as Leopard, Wildebeest, Springbok, Kudu, Rhebok, Steenbok, Eland and more. You can also relax at the outdoor pool with a book on nature from the library and make new friends.

Visitors can join in a Cheetah Awareness Program at feeding time, this is included in the booking price.

Very pleasant stay by

Good value for money and a comfortable stay. Freindly and welcoming staff/management. We missed a toaster and coffee plunger though! Awesome view from the chalet and very quiet venue made it a great getaway.

Overnight Stay at African Game Lodge by

We were warmly greeted and shown to a quality chalet with all possible appliances readily available. The two experiences which will stay with us are patting the cheetahs and the safari game drive. During the drive we were fortunate enough to see Gemsbok, Eland, Oryx, Daika, Black Cape Buffalo and several birds of prey. The Safari game Lodge is a very peaceful stopover for one or two days and can be recommended to all who travel along the inner "Garden Route" ( Montagu, Oudtshorn ).

Fantastic hospitality by

Last month we spent two nights in a self catering chalet which was fantastic, it was clean, spacious and perfect for our needs. The meals in the evening were delicious and Monwa, who was in charge at the time, was efficient, helpful and very knowledgeable about the animals he showed us. Would definitely return to stay here again

A M A Z I N G!! by

We where welcome friendly and show to our house by Monzi, who is very friendly and helpful and share a lot of interesting facts. You just want to sit outside it is so peaceful and quite. Our breakfast was a feast. Our highlight was the feeding of the cheetah. There are so many hiking trails. You cannot stay for just one night. We will definitely go back again.
