We as the owners manage a relatively small establishment in the La Lucia / Umhlanga Rocks area. Our aim is to create a family atmosphere where all guest will feel welcome and at home; therefore we will walk the extra mile to make your stay as comfortable and pleasant as possible.

Akanan is very easy to find just off the M4 freeway between Durban and Umhlanga Rocks. We are walking distance from La Lucia Beach and a small shopping centre with a grocery store and various restaurants. Umhlanga Rocks is 4 kilometers away, with Durban City Centre, Moses Mabidha, Kingspark Swimming Pool, Athletic Stadium, The Sharks Tank (Home of Sharks Rugby), various golf courses and U'Shaka between 8 to12 minutes' drive from us.

We are situated on the Public Transport Route. We also offer to call Uber or a metered Taxi Service on your request. The guest house offers a luxury bed and breakfast experience with complimentary amenities, glass of Jeripico, Coffee / Tea station and something sweet to nibble.

A delicious range of fresh foods are on offer for breakfast. A Continental Buffet Breakfast and a hot English breakfast are served Monday to Saturday. On Sunday's we only offer a Continental Buffet Breakfast.

The elegant fully air-conditioned en-suite guest rooms and self-catering unit are individually decorated. They come with Commercial DSTV channels, flat screen TV, microwave oven, bar fridge, hair dryer, safe and limited cutlery and crockery. The self-catering unit is however fitted with a fully equipped kitchen.

The lapa offers a cozy atmosphere where you can braai (barbeque) and relax. The pool is conveniently next to the lapa area to escape from the heat you can dive in to cool down. We also offer free secure parking to our guests.
