If you are looking for peace and quiet in a homely atmosphere, away from the rat-race of everyday life, then Aliwal Anchorage is the place to be.
The unit is quiet, secure, spacious and light and can accommodate two people. Completely separate from the main house, with private entrance and own alarm system. You have a choice of two single beds or one very comfortable King-sized bed. There is an effective ceiling fan for hot summer nights. Tea and Coffee making facilities are available in the room, but no cooking is allowed. The bathroom is modern, open plan on-suite (no door) and boasts a rain shower in a generous cubicle, wash basin, vanity and toilet.

Breakfast can be provided at an extra cost and may be served on the deck (weather permitting) overlooking a green valley and distant ocean views. Please book your breakfast by 13h00 the previous day.
There are some stairs to the unit making it unsuitable for wheelchairs and young children.
Secure off-road parking for one vehicle is provided next to our driveway, which is fairly steep as the property is on a hill.

You will be met and welcomed by the owners and a very friendly Boston Terrier, who is part of the family.
We are 800meters from the nearest beach (by road) or about 500meters "as the crow flies".

Widenham is a very quiet residential area adjacent to the village of Umkomaas. The area is world-renowned for its access to the Aliwal Shoal Reef for scuba diving and fishing. Several charters leave from Umkomaas. There are very few shops in Umkomaas but there is a lovely Italian restaurant, steakhouse, and a few other restaurants, a KFC, and also a Spar for your daily necessities.

We are only 11kilometers from Scottburgh, 25kilometers from Amanzimtoti, and 50kilometers from Durban, giving you easy access to everything your heart desires, whilst staying in a tranquil, peaceful haven.
Rocky Bay is 16kilometers from us and is considered one of the top snorkelling spots on the South African coastline.

For the brave, shark cage diving is available at Rocky Bay. There are several pristine golf courses in the area, eg. Umkomaas, Scottburgh, Selbourne, Umdoni. There is a Park Run in Amanzimtoti and beautiful Trail Runs and Mountain Bike Trails in Rocky Bay.
