Amma Cottage

Amma is a small cabin, inspired by our love of mountain (and mountain huts). It is nestled amongst bush filled with bird life and overlooking wilderness with views of the sea. It is located in a neighbourhood with other houses but private and tucked away. The perfect place to retreat to with a pile of books.

This is a tiny tumbleweed house. The concept was to build something tucked among the rocks and established natural vegetation. In the garden, there is the constant sound of birdsong and signs of life from porcupine and cape genet. From the bed you can see the sea. The new 'green' natural fibre mattress is made up with an electric blanket, cotton percale bedding, a new down duvet and pillows. The kitchen has a bar fridge, a small but very nice oven and a gas hob. You have access to your own parking space and a tiny private garden with its own hot outside bath.

Please note that the cottage has a composting bucket toilet. It is environmentally friendly, odourless, beautifully simple alternative to flushing toilets. A laundry service is available on Monday's, Wednesday's and Friday's. The cost is R70 for a 5 kg load that will be washed and tumble dried. A cleaning service is available at a cost of R250 for a house clean and bedding change. Please speak to us if any of these are required.
