Appelkooskop is a newly renovated stone cottage that is located in a kloof and ensures privacy, lots of fresh air and beautiful views. It is ideal for those who want peace and relaxation while being surrounded by nature.

There are two bedrooms; the main bedroom has a queen-size bed and an en-suite bathroom with a shower; and the second bedroom is located upstairs in the loft and has two single beds. Although the cottage does not have electricity, the kitchen is equipped with a gas stove and oven, a gas fridge and all the necessary utensils. There is a dining table and a cosy fireplace for those winter days. The spacious living room opens onto the patio, which has a built-in braai and seating.

Cellphone reception is not available in the cottage, but one can find it a few metres from the cottage. A walk or cycle will get guests to the lookout point, which offers a 360-degree view over the entire Overberg. It is ideal for cyclists.

Fantastic stay at Appelkooskop Cottage! by

What a find! The Cottage is beautiful and clean, and such a peaceful place.  You are completely surrounded by fields, with not another house in sight.  Your only neighbors are the sheep! There were so many nice touches that made us feel very welcome - home made bread, any piece of equipment we needed, fire pre-set.  This is a very special place, and highly recommended for anyone looking to have some peace and quiet and enjoy nature.  It's also only a 35min+/- drive to the gates of De Hoop park.

Incredible little place, which provides a wonderful break from the city. It's totally quiet except for the sounds of a windmill and a few sheep.

I'd bring 5l or so of drinking water next time, the water is perfectly drinkable but just a little brackish.

Absolutely amazing! Beautiful, cozy cottage with lots of character. Waking up with the farm animals at your bedroom window, the clear skies and stars at night with no cellphone signal was the perfect break from the city hussle.
