This true Colonial-style safari lodge, named after the famous artist and explorer Thomas Baines, offers a wide variety of activities in and around the Lower Zambezi National Park, including specialized photographic workshops, fly-fishing clinics, elephant studies and birding weeks, each hosted by internationally renowned expert guides who are passionate about the African bush and their subject.

You can choose between King and Twin Suites and our private two-bedroom Baines Cottage is ideal for young families. On arrival, a friendly face awaits you in the Selous Bar with a refreshing drink before you unpack and get ready for your first activity. Or you may prefer to just take in the scenery and settle down with your binoculars on our main verandah to gaze over the Zambezi, Africa's fourth largest river.
