Bishops Cove is situated on one of the most remarkable coastal sites in the Tsitsikamma area.

Surrounded by miles of pristine and rugged coastline with its own private little beach, guests often comment that it's like having the famous Tsitsikamma Otter trail all to oneself.

Bishops Cove is a small farm with two spacious architect-designed self-catering units accommodating small or large groups of up to 13 guests.

Furnishings are practical and very comfortable, and although accommodation is designed and fully equipped for self-catering, bed and breakfast or a fully-catered option with prior arrangement is available.

Guests can just relax and take in the beautiful natural surroundings and serenity, or they can enjoy an action packed outdoor adventure. Dolphins are an almost daily sight and whales are prolific in the winter months. Mountain bikers can make use of the kilometers of quiet, unpaved rural roads, passing beautiful dams, pastures and plantations. The area is extremely safe with no security concerns.

There are a range of hiking trails to choose from, with the more leisurely trails enabling you to enjoy the magnificent ocean and mountain views. Other trails will take you into the forest or along the rugged and pristine coast where there is a good chance of seeing resident Cape clawless otter and rare Oyster Catcher birds.

Other resident game includes bushbuck, steenbok, aardvark, rock hyrax, monkeys, porcupine, bush pig, caracal lynx and large-spotted genet.

Idyllic, peaceful setting by

Bishop's Cove is perched on the edge of the spectacular Tsitsikamma coast with majestic views from all of the cottages. The accommodation is delightful and is equipped with everything one needs for a relaxed getaway. A nature lover's paradise with beautiful scenic walks and a pretty, sheltered beach!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bishop's Cove. The view where we ate our meals on the porch was spectacular! And Sally was a sweetheart. We will definitely be back!

Thank you, it was absolutely fantastic! We enjoyed our stay and immediately fell in love when we descended to the house on arrival. The house is beautiful, well maintained (especially for a house so close to the sea) and have a welcoming, homely feeling. We were friendly greeted and showed around on arrival with privacy until our departure. I need to add you have wonderful caretakers, friendly, well maintained and in love with the environment themselves. Recommendation: A few hammocks on the stoep might add some more relaxing pleasure from where the whales and dolphins can be enjoyed. It was great to find binoculars on the shelf - thanks! (..and removing the television with a view like that - I do not like a television, but it didn't bother us). We have recommended Bishops Cove to a lot of people already and will continue as it was indescribably. We will visit soon with the rest of the family.

We didn't know what to expect but it surpassed whatever we were hoping for. Every need is catered for.... Wood for the fireplace, for the Weber, board games, sound system, DSTV, exceptionally well equipped kitchen with quality crockery, cutlery etc. Good quality mattresses and bedding. (Needed a hand towel or two) Everything was beautifully clean and in good condition.

What a stunning place. The house is amazing. The view is spectacular. The walks are incredible. The hosts the friendliest, warmest people you could wish to meet. Perfect 10 out of 10 for this one.

Bishops Cove literally takes your breathe away. We were very fortunate to have the family cottage, which has the most beautiful view of the ocean. We could not have wished for a more beautiful place to celebrate our engagement. The hosts were so welcoming and are clearly very passionate about the place and area. Would highly recommend
