A mere hour and a half drive from Durban, this retreat is set on the fringe of the 240 hectare indigenous Dlinza Forest with its abundant birdlife and aerial boardwalk. It is a great stopover for exploring the Zulu Kingdom and Route 66.

Bishops Guest House is a magnificent colonial home built in 1891 for the Bishop of Zululand. It has recently been refurbished, keeping the original architecture but with modern finishes, and offers six generous comfortable en-suite rooms. The stately residence has an exceptional ambience and caring, personalised service.

The guest house has convenient access to shopping centres, restaurants, museums, Eshowe Hills Golf Course, and The Zululand Brewing Company. We also offer game viewing, boat cruises, fishing, birding, cultural, and historical tours, and provide communication facilities for business travellers.

Wonderful hostess; Jennifer really goes the extra mile. There were a number of small aspects that could be improved on. I was also surprised to see that the room was not en-suite but part of a whole suite.

I think the tv is old for this stunning guest house Secondly I had a bad experience of cold water for 2 days and shower was so bad in terms sprinkling them water ,the pressure is at very low level I battled to shower Thirdly 1 hanger won't do any good because we bring laguage on our stay
