Blue Crane Cottage is located in the quaint, tree-lined town of Hanover where the N1 and N10 national roads cross. This town is the ideal stopover for travellers as it is centrally located on the N1 highway, and lies exactly halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg, as well as Upington, East London and Port Elizabeth.
The cottage is a heritage house dating from the 1800's. The house has been refurbished, offering comfortably furnished self-catering accommodation to a family of four, or group of friends. The house has two bedrooms, and one bathroom. The first bedroom has a double bed, and the second bedroom two single beds. The bathroom has a shower, toilet and a basin, and linen and towels are provided for guests' convenience. Other facilities in the unit include a kitchen, an open-plan dining and seating area, as well as a fireplace. Heaters and fans are provided.
The kitchen is well equipped with a stove, oven, microwave, fridge, toaster, tea- and coffee-making facilities, cooking utensils, cutlery and crockery. The living area has a comfortable couch, as well as a dining area with ample seating where guests can enjoy their meals, and play board games together. Guests also have access to free Wi-Fi, and secure on-site parking.
A help-yourself breakfast is available on request at an extra cost of R50 per person. This includes cereals, milk, fruit juice, and yoghurt / fruit. Tea, coffee, sugar and creamer are free. The cottage is cleaned daily. Pets are unfortunately not allowed. Blue Crane Cottage is within walking distance of several restaurants as well as two general merchants.
