Nestled in the popular coastal town of Margate is a superbly located and neat self-catering apartment with 2 bedrooms AND 2 bathrooms in a fully secure complex. A full balcony provides guests with panoramic 180-degree sea views. A BIG advantage to this apartment is that it has a ground level entrance from the parking area which means NO stairs into or in the unit but facing the ocean, it is on the second floor, which offers the fantastic sea and breaker view from the balcony as well as from inside the unit. As bonus the sound of waves are clearly audible on the balcony and even inside the unit.Dolphins and whales are regularly spotted from the unit. A swimming pool, tennis court, laundromat and barbecue area are on the premises. Includes one under cover parking bay.This complex is on a prime beachfront site, just metres away from the beach, rocks with rock pools and beautiful tidal pool. Less than 1 km from Margate main beach and town centre, offering numerous restaurants, shopping and entertainment facilities as well as less than 3 km from Ramsgate beach and the famous The Waffle House.There is a newly build boardwalk starting below the complex and running along the beach to Margate's famous main beach with stairs along the way leading on to secluded beaches.The apartment is fully equipped for self-catering. Bed linen is provided but please bring own towels and replacement toilet paper. Additional cleaning available on site. The apartment is also equipped with a flat screen TV (SABC1-3, E-TV available) and a DSTV connection in the lounge. Guests need to bring their own DSTV decoder (Not Explora) or they can hire from Martin Electronics in Margate.

We had a comfortable and an enjoyable stay at Chesapeake Bay nr 30 during Dec 2012. Stunning sea views! Will defnitely recommend!

So nice! by

We had a lovely time, everything we needed was there. We were looked after well by Johan and his wife. Our son was entertained by the lovely resident children. Great time and good memories made.



Great view and a great balcony but need a lot of attention to the furnisher and details in the flat.

Please note that this is a privately owned, non-commercial apartment of which the owner are 1300km away and only visiting once or twice a year. This is not a commercial run establishment like hotel / guest house or indicated to be a luxurious apartment, which some guests apparently expect but don't want to pay for, even more so after this person received a decent discount over the long weekend. Some of the furniture may be, according to some, on the old side but is still serviceable, clean and more than adequate for this type of self-catering apartment at the prices charged. If more attention to furniture and details must be given, as this person suggests, taking into account the location of this apartment, the prices will have to go up drastically.

Establishment Response:

Ridiculous and unfair review from difficult and wilful guests, giving problems from the very 1st step of the booking process until the day they left. This type of ludicrous review was expected and we should have cancelled their booking when we had the chance after their date for deposit payment expired. They know and could see for themselves that our carport, that should be covered, was a temporarily problem, out of the owners hands because the previous netted carports were damaged by a storm and are now been replaced by much better IBR roof sheeting structures but the contractors failed to erect this unit's in time and should be finished in January. Our appointed person there as well as the caretaker of the complex went out of their way to see that they had a covered parking. Dear guest please consider a 4 star or up hotel/ guest house in future. Similar type self-catering establishments, please be aware of these guests who I will recommend to no-one! Potential guests please read previous reviews!
