Under New ManagementConiston House provides overnight accommodation in an elegant, historic, Cape Georgian homestead situated halfway between Cape Town and Johannesburg. The house was built in 1835 by Thomas Plewman - an 1820 settler - and has remained in the family to this day. It is one of the very few genuine Cape Georgian double-storey houses in the country. Furnished with antiques and family heirlooms, the establishment exudes a charm not commonly found elsewhere.The rooms available include four comfortable Family Suites; two are located in the main house and the other two are in the coach house. Each Family Suite is furnished and includes twin and double beds serviced by an en-suite bathroom. There are also two Garden Cottages available for couples. They feature double beds and en-suite bathrooms.English breakfasts are served in front of a blazing wood fireplace during winter; the perfect addition for a cosy stay.
