Drayton is one of the oldest farms in the Overberg and the original mill, that dates back to the mid 1700's, is still on the farm, as well as part of the original wagon route.

The farm is only 8km outside Caledon, on the N2 in the direction of Riviersonderend. Visitors can reach the cottage by car and will only have to travel 800m of gravel road.On arrival guests will receive a freshly baked bread and home baked rusks.

A menu from which guests can order homecooked meals and fresh baking, to be enjoyed in the privacy of the cottage is also provided. Guests can relax on the veranda and enjoy the scenery, or take an easy hike to the waterfall in the nearby mountain. A small mountain stream also flows past the cottage.

'n Lieflike, goed toegeruste huisie. Als wat jy nodig het is daar. Van ordentlik wynglase tot 'n koffie 'plunger'. A lovely, well equipped house. Everything you need is there. From proper wine glasses to a coffee plunger.

The cottage was really stunning. Very lovely and quaint, and such a tranquil, gorgeous setting.

We were really disappointed with what we saw when actually arriving on the farm, shared facilities for R600 per night, nothing more that backpackers at ridiculous price, we've stayed at gems for R200 more per night....

the scenery and indoor fireplace by

the advert online describes the lovely newly baked load of bread one receives on arrival. I did not receive this.
