Gilbert House B&B is situated in the upmarket part of Volksrust, offering comfortable accommodation in Mpumalanga. The historical nature and the unique location make for a relaxed atmosphere.

We offer three beautiful bedrooms opening up onto a landscaped garden with pathways leading to the parking areas. There is a lovely dining area for all meals and a central living area for socialising. Our heated indoor swimming pool is ideal even for the winter months. We have a lovely art gallery for the more curious and artistic guests, as well as historic books and newspapers available.

Volksrust is a quaint South African town with plenty of historical and cultural sights. Situated close to many famous battle sites, Volksrust became a municipality in 1904 and is currently the commercial centre of an area where maize, wool, sorghum, sunflower seed, beef and dairy are all farmed and produced.

We really enjoyed our stay at Gilbert House B&B. The house is quite unique and interesting. Accommodations are very comfortable, and the breakfast was extraordinary. Magda was a wonderful host. Location is close to restaurants and many battle sites. Perfect place for a stop over when traveling from Johannesburg to Durban or St. Lucia. Would definitely recommend this B&B.
