Grasslands Cottage

Graham and Claudine welcome guests to Grasslands Cottage guest house, located in Wakkerstroom. The cottage is within easy walking distance of the Wakkerstroom Wetland Reserve and local shops. This is the ideal accommodation for close friends or a family who wouldn't mind sharing a bathroom. We accommodate only one couple or one party at a time, so that guests may relax fully. Grasslands Cottage offers accommodation in the owner's home. Guest rooms are: Blue guest room with a queen-size bed and the Yellow room with a double bed. Electric blankets are provided for the cold months. The bedrooms share the bathroom located between the guest rooms. A hearty breakfast is served in the dining area and three course home cooked dinners on request. Should guests decide to stay in after dinner they are welcome to enjoy the fireplace in the lounge, when it's cold; and enjoy a selection of DVDs and / or books. Wakkerstroom is situated in a beautiful valley, 27 km from the town of Volksrust which is the beginning of the Battlefields Route. Wakkerstroom has some historical monuments; easy self-guided walks; world-class birding and is ideal for re-charging one's batteries. Guests can relax in the tranquil surroundings.
