Grootnek Guest Farm is situated in the Langkloof Valley along the scenic Cape Route 62 between Joubertina and Krakeel River. Resting in the heart of this scenic valley, Grootnek Guest Farm offers a unique accommodation experience for visitors to the Eastern Cape.

Guests can choose to enjoy their stay in the comfort of one of three quaint, self-catering, fully equipped cottages nestled amongst the orchards of this quiet and peaceful fruit farm. The Weskus Cottage, Karoo Cottage and the Bosveld Cottage each boast their own unique farm Jacuzzi. Expect comfortable simplicity during your stay, as this guest farm offers the charm of the rustic coupled with the luxury of everyday comfort. Each cottage is fully equipped with gas appliances and hot running water, complemented by lamps and candles to complete the beautifully uncomplicated, farm life experience. Electricity is also available on the farm should it be required.

Whether you enjoy complete relaxation or appreciating nature through outdoor activities, Grootnek Guest Farm offers the ideal opportunity to do both. Activities include bird-watching, horse riding, trail hiking, swimming, bass fishing, star-gazing, picking fruit in season, feeding farm animals, and 4x4 trails. Whatever activity you choose to pursue, you will inevitably fall in love with the simple, rustic charm of the farm life experience.

Peaceful stay by

We slept over for 1 night. Our host was very friendly and accommodating. The accommodation was exactly as stated on the website. Cottage was clean and comfortable. Relaxing to be in a farm environment and the stars were spectacular.

Hospitality with a big H by

We stayed for four day at Grootnek.

Gerrie and Gawie were so very friendly and accommodating. They really know what hospitality is. The showed us the farm and let us taste the fruits and products. Gerrie also took us on a picknick in the mountains. The accommodation was was clean and comfortable. Their is no electricity but you really get use to it very quick. It was very relaxing to be in a farm environment and the stars and the 360 degrees mountain views were spectacular. Thank you so much letting us stay on your farm. We hope to come back.  



Very calm and peaceful by

What a great little farm, three neat houses, very private and all with beautiful views. We were lucky enough to get there just after the peaches had been picked and were allowed to get any of the leftovers. Perfect for an overnight stop or a weekend away.

We love this little place. Don't want to say too much as some secrets are worth keeping to yourself :) Wonderful stay, and very friendly hosts. This was our second visit, and we will be back for more.

Peace and tranquillity and stunning views from every angle by

Accommodation and setting superb. Unfortunately the directions provided by Safarinow were appalling and we got lost repeatedly. All in all it took an hour to locate the farm using directions that were totally inaccurate.
