Hodge Podge Lodge Backpackers is set against the Magaliesberg Mountain Range and offers accommodation for tourists looking to relax in a tranquil environment.

The wooden cottages and dorms are styled to meet the needs of individual guests and groups. The backpackers has a very unique bar in the communal lapa called the Middle Of The Road Taste.

The bar blends a bit of old and new as well as the comfort of Rhodesian Teak tables with directors' chairs. With pool and poker table, Wi-Fi access, and a swimming pool, Hodge Podge is a backpacker's paradise.

Surrounded by a beautiful garden, Hodge can accommodate up to 130 guests. Meals are catered for upon request. African food is a specialty including the traditional potjiekos, all prepared on an open fire.

My stay at Hodge Podge Lodge was excellent. I went with three other friends for a World Cup game. The owners and staff could not have been nicer or more accommodating, despite the surely hectic time for them. The four-bed dorm was nice and neat. Very basic, but fine for our needs. I would recommend the lodge to anyone looking for a safe, clean place to stay outside Rustenburg.

Dirty place by

It is false advertising and everything about is not up to standard. The landlady is rude, dogs all over the place. The place is not as shown in the pictures. The condition of the place is not properly maintained. The kitchen is dirty. They have about three or four single beds in every chalet. Showers are not properly working, fridges are dirty.
I wouldn't recommend a person to go there just because it is cheap or anything but the place is dirty.

The client booked in on Friday night round about 10 and then they wanted to use the kitchen to cook food. We said to them sorry the kitchen closes at . The made a big noise all night till 06h30 in the morning. They drank all night not considering anybody else on the property. They had the run of the place. They could use the kitchen anytime of the day except for the hours I have said for the evenings. The Saturday night they made another big noise and the guests complained again. They never considered the other guests at any time what so ever. The dog story is that my dogs have the run of the place and have never harmed a soul here as a matter of fact they just become part of the guests as they are so friendly and they just love people. The cabins are there for singles and doubles. All the rooms have a double bed inside with maybe one or 2 bunk beds inside as my cabins can be used for doubles and a family or a group of 6 to a cabin. It is very clear to that. The pictures are very clear on the sight. I came back from church still to find this guests using the pool at 12h00 and I asked them and now they should have been out and off the premises already. They said they were waiting for their public transport. I asked them did they clear there rooms and they said yes they did. Only to find out the when there transport arrived they went back to their rooms to shower and still eat there left overs. I went to their rooms to say they must pack and leave as there time was up. I only raised my voice and told them what the rules where. Some was still eating and packing others were taking their time and then the little ladies started insulting me which made me very angry. They were very under the weather when they left and they left the place full of the filthy dishes of which there is a rule been a backpackers that they should wash there dishes at all times. I am very sad that people like this take advantage of my goodness as I asked them many times over the weekend if all was well and they said all was good. This is a backpackers and not a 5 star BB. Pity some people do not know the difference. I am not rude unless I am put into a corner to do so. Rules are rules and by right I had all the right to charge these people an extra night, but didn't.
