Located in picturesque Forest Hills in Kloof, Nkutu River Lodge (previously Hot Buttered Toast) offers views over the Krantzkloof Nature Reserve on the banks of the Nkutu River. It offers comfortable accommodation and excellent views.

The accommodations include a one-bedroom apartment on the second floor with a large balcony and two deluxe suites in a new building with a big balcony to take in the view of the natural bush garden. These apartments are linked to accommodate a small family. All the rooms are modern, well-designed and well-equipped.

The Nkutu Picnic Site is 850m away, the Waterfall Shopping Centre is a 4-minute drive and PheZulu Safari Park can be reached within 25 minutes' drive. The King Shaka International Airport is located 30 km away.

Wonderful Stay by

A wonderful, relaxed, quiet environment. Very comfortable and service is excellent.



We had a lovely stay at the Hot Buttered Toast Apartment. The apartment is very neat, clean and in a nice quiet neighbourhood with a stunning view of the valley!

Would definitely be back!

We enjoyed our stay at Hot Buttered Toast very much and would certainly go back again if the opportunity arouse.  The apartment was spacious and adequately furnished with a super kitchen -proper stove and fridge. The balcony was really great and we enjoyed having our meals there, looking at the view over the valley and listening to the sounds of the birds. The apartment was cleaned every day and the housekeeper was friendly. The hosts were very welcoming but basically left us to our own devices once we were settled which we really appreciated. Wifi was important for us for business and the connection was good.Secure parking was a big plus for us as well.  We found the driveway disconcertingly steep but managed to negotiate it adequately!
