iGowati Country Hotel is the ideal stopover on your way to the wonders of Damaraland. Enjoy breathtaking desert landscapes where game such as black rhino, desert elephant, mountain zebra, kudu, springbuck roam freely. We are situated in the town of Khorixas on the main road.

We have 30 rooms with en-suite bathrooms and 10 Campsites with electricity points, running water and clean ablutions. Rooms are spacious, clean and attractively decorated under rustic thatch roofs.

A well designed swimming pool and open restaurant offer a relaxing place to enjoy an afternoon dip, good food and hospitality. Local beer and fine wines are on offer in the bar. The restaurant is open for all main meals, as well as light meals and snacks. A performance by the Damara people will entertain guests each evening.

A boma with braai facilities provides a relaxing atmosphere in which guests can enjoy the cool evening air and look at the stars while having a night cap or just watching the fire. A relaxing afternoon can be enjoyed in our Jacuzzi that can seat eight people. The curio shop offers some local African art and crafts, as well as necessities for the traveller. We also offer day trips to all of the sights in our area.

Pleasant stay by

Travelling with my family, we had a stopover here on our way to the Twyfelfontein Heritage Site. It's a cosy, comfortable place to be and the food was equally delicious. Highly recommended.

Nice hotel, however the cleanliness of the rooms (and specially the beds) could be LARGELY improved. Beds are really uncomfortable too.

The pool area is lovely, that is where it stops. Reception cannot look at postcards covered in dust. The room we had, had to put our own geyser on. Unit is fine when going in. Upstairs there is no light, the wires link but no plug so not good for a small child. Beds are so hard had bad back ache. There is no tea/ coffee facilities in unit as advertised. You must go to bar get there, there was nothing and this was 7pm. Bar attendant could be more friendly. So he couldn't help or try and help. There was a 500ml bottle water in unit, not sure what that was for as there were three of us. The rules etc give a different price for dinner than reception so that needs an update. The party in the town which was right next to the resort kept us awake till 2am with the loud music. The bath, blue isn't cold water but hot and red is not hot but cold. Shower we had to clean out the shower head as it was full of lime deposits so the shower could work. Shower also needs a good clean. Hot tub is advertised but not used in a long time, closed and dirty. Breakfast started off well till hot breakfast. Order cheese omelette you get everything on omelette, another omelette was ordered and my husband got two fried eggs when we told her she said oh the lady must have heard wrong. There was only the three of us and another person.the place was not full. Omelette was not nice and on the side is fat from bacon. It was not worth the money and I would never go back. The owners need to look at staff and units as they need some upgrade. We just handed in key and no one asked us how our stay was etc compared to all the places we stayed at on our two week trip all orders are wonderful and this establishment could learn something fro other places on how to treat and make yr customer feel welcome. No impressed.
