This resort is enjoyed by those who want to get away from it all, switch off and relax in peace and quiet in beautiful unspoilt nature. No traffic, few people, 700 km north of Maputo and well worth the drive on excellent tar roads to Vilankulo. From Vilankulo you will need a 4 x 4, or fly in to the modern international airport and hire a 4 x 4.
The island-style wood and palm cottages are tastefully furnished, serviced, cool and comfortable. Please bring your own beach towels. These fully equipped cottages can sleep eight guests in four bedrooms with two bathrooms. All beds have mosquito netting. The cottages also have open-plan fully equipped kitchens, dining and lounge areas, and large covered patios. Power comes from the town grid and clean water from our own boreholes. Washing machines are available for your use, otherwise arrangements can be made with the cleaning ladies. Julio will welcome and assist you and will attend to all needs.
Enjoy stunning views of the Basaruta archipelago across the calm bay from the covered patio where you can watch the dhows and enjoy your meals, read, and relax. Use the gas grill on the patio to prepare fresh fish, crays and prawns and eat there, or walk 50 m along the beach to enjoy authentic Portuguese cuisine. Launch your boat into calm clear water, take a charter to the best diving and fishing spots, go island hopping in a local dhow, or ride camels on the beach. Use the garden shower to cool off, and enjoy ice cold drinks on the patio and watch the moon over the bay in clear skies. Take a drive on a sandy bush track to Vilanculos and experience the fish and produce markets, fresh Portuguese rolls, pubs and restaurants.
