Situated in the heart of the Karoo, Jakhalsdans Game Farm and Guest House is renowned as an oasis in the veld. The farm offers everything for the whole family to enjoy from fishing and game viewing to water skiing and bird watching. Beautiful gardens populated by a vast selection of birds surround the luxurious guest houses.
We have a mountain bike and hiking trail.

Covering 13 000-hectares, this working farm has an abundance of game which guests can explore on foot, bicycle, horse or game drive. The more adventurous spend the day enjoying the refreshing water-skiing at the dam's 50-year-old ski club.

The farm offers three guest houses, all with fully equipped self-catering kitchens, although meal options are available. And braai facilities.
Jakhalsdans Game Farm offers accommodation in the ?Ou Opstal' 'Shearers Cottage' and the ?Langhuis'. Please note that the rates are subject to the number of guests staying, hence we advise guests to request the appropriate tariffs.

The farm is full of a variety of game that can be viewed including springbok, impala, blesbok, gemsbok, wildebeest, eland, kudu, Hartmann's zebra, wild boar, and many more. Guests can experience the wide open spaces on a ?veld drive' and enjoy the beautiful and view some delightful plains game. Picnic baskets can be provided.

For experienced riders, enjoy the broad sweeping vistas and animal life that abounds in the Karoo on horseback. The more energetic visitor can explore the game farm on a mountain bike. The expansive freshwater dam with its well-appointed clubhouse offers exhilaration for the water skier as well as tranquillity for the fisherman.

Depending on the time of year, visitors can partake in the day to day running of the farm such as feeding the lambs, sheep herding, shearing, lucern harvesting, tractor drives, game capture and game auctions.

Ware Karoo gasvryheid by

Jenette het ons met absolute gasvryheid verwelkom en ons verblyf onvergeetlik gemaak deur die wonderlikste aandete te voorsien. Die dennelanings, springbokke, zebras, skape en pragtige tuin het ure se afleiding verskaf en die 2 lieflike honde het ons stap-uitstappies baie opwindend gemaak. Die akkomodasie was voortreflik en die beste van ons 2 en half weke toer deur Suid Afrika.

The Karoo at its best by

We were warmly welcomed after a long drive from Johannesburg. Our self-catering unit in the cottage was very spacious, with a lovely patio overlooking a dam. Birdlife is prolific, with a flock of the endemic Black-headed Canary entertaining us on the bushes behind the cottage. The next morning we had a leisurely breakfast, and then set off down the road to Beaufort West. We did not see another vehicle for the next 90 minutes, and revelled in the endless Karoo vistas. Definitely a place to be remembered; we promised ourselves more time when we return to this beautiful area.

Jakhalsdans is n plekkie wat jy nie mag misry as jy die mooi Loxton Area besoek Nie. Maak ook seker jy bestel die karoolam braaipak om op die stoep te braai, wat n bederf!
