Laikipia Wilderness Camp

This small and personal bush camp boasts beautiful views of Mount Kenya and surrounding wilderness.

We specialise in making each day an adventure and will suggest a programme designed to suit you. We offer game drives and walking safaris which can be focused on specific interests such as photography, tracking game on foot, following specific species and watching animal behaviour. With three children of our own, we welcome visitors of all ages.

The camp consists of a tented mess building with dining room, bar, sitting room with library, and a deck with a camp-fire in the evenings.

The surrounding area is fantastic for big numbers of elephants, giraffe, hippo, Grevy's zebra, leopard, wild dog, lion, striped and spotted hyena, aardwolf, aardvark, and over 280 species of birds. We work closely with the Laikipia Predator Project collecting data from our sightings of wild dogs and lions, some of whom are fitted with radio collars for this research and our guests are able to participate in this.

We also run walking safaris using a lightweight mobile camp, enabling us to follow the wildlife and adventure rather than a set route. Starting at Laikipia Wilderness Camp these can finish at one of Laikipia's luxury lodges which offer a whole different aspect to a safari from quad-biking to horse-riding, camel safaris, spa treatments and infinity pools. In addition to walking safaris, we run expeditions to places we love such as Lake Bogoria Baringo and Turkana.

We have 20 years of experience running walking safaris, expeditions and camps in Zimbabwe, Zambia and Kenya. This is our way of life and our passion and we love sharing this amazing area with guests from all over the world. Together with a small team of local Kenyans who grew up in this area and our three young sons we would like to welcome you to Laikipia.
