Lake Kivu Serena Hotel

Lake Kivu Serena Hotel is situated on the sandy shores of Lake Kivu, overlooking its very own private beach and surrounded by extensive tropical gardens. It is set just outside the small town of Gisenyi, which is 160km from Kigali, and only minutes away from the border with the Democratic Republic of Congo and the city of Goma.

We offer 65 rooms of which features 36 Superior Rooms, 23 Family Rooms and six Suites. All our rooms are presented in typically African style with balconies and views of the lake. Most of our rooms are non-smoking, but smoking rooms can be arranged on request.

The hotel's main restaurant, The Kiyaga Restaurant, looks out over the swimming pool towards the palm trees and the beach. Offering an extensive buffet breakfast, with both buffet and a-la-carte lunch and dinner choices, Kiyaga features Rwandese, African and international cuisine. The hotel is also famous for its monthly beach parties, which feature a lakeside buffet, a beach bonfire and live music. A wide selection of snacks and drinks can be enjoyed at our Ziwani Café, which is located below the pool overlooking the beach of the lake.

We offer a 24-hour room service which features an extensive menu, offering everything from the classic club sandwich to a lovely spiced curry. We are also delighted to serve a private lunch or dinner in your room or suite, or provide cocktails and canapés on your private terrace.

The hotel has a large air-conditioned ballroom, two spacious and interconnecting conference areas, as well as a private air-conditioned boardroom. There is a selection of indoor- and outdoor reception areas as well as an interactive business centre with Wi-Fi connectivity.
