L'Chiam Cottage

This cozy berg cottage is nestled against the foothills of the Drakensberg on the Bergview Estate, which is an access-controlled area neighbouring the Drakensberg Sun Hotel.

L' Chiam is a three bedroom cottage with a bathroom offering a bath and shower. There is an open-plan lounge with a fireplace and TV with DStv, a dining room, a braai area outside and under-cover parking for three cars. L ?Chiam's private garden is home to many endemic bird species and guests may expect to see eagles, vultures and smaller raptors. In the cool of the day one may encounter small buck species and the odd porcupine. Monkeys and baboons are also regular visitors.

Guests at the cottage may access most of the facilities of the Drakensberg Sun Hotel as day visitors, but this is always subject to the decision of hotel management. The hotel's gate is about 300 m from L' Chiam and it offers tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool, a dam with paddle boats and canoes and minigolf. The hotel has a restaurant, bar and small shop. Hiking trails into the Berg start both at the hotel and from the top of Bergview Estate. There are also many other resorts, restaurants and wildlife area's close by. These include Ukhahlamba Drakensberg Park and Spionkop Game Park.
