Limestone HouseOkahandja, Otjozondjupa, Namibia Zelf-Zichricht | (POA) |
Limestone House was originally built in 1922 to house a family of five. It had two rooms and an external cold room, all built from white limestone found on the Elizabeth Hill farm.
The Galloway family lived there from 1922 to 1928. In the last 100 years, this little house has been home to a few families, farmers and a few goats! This little house has built character over the years and you will feel like you have taken a trip to the past when you spend time here.
We have a working cold room, a paraffin freezer and a coal stove to warm the house on winter nights. Come and experience a real farm getaway at Limestone House, only one hour out of Windhoek and accessible without a 4x4.
The house is adjacent to a barn, waterhole and small vegetable garden, which you are free to explore and use. You are welcome to take short walks in the veld and a 5km walking loop has been marked for our guests.
