Pleasant surprise by Chenel Mynhardt, South Africa 02 August 2010 What a pleasant surprise. Chalets are beautiful and very well equipped. Staff are very friendly and accommodating. Views are stunning. The most animals we've seen in one place. The cat sanctuary tour was very interesting and the animals are breathtaking. We really enjoyed the stay and would've liked to stay 2 nights instead of just one. Food was also very nice. I would definitely recommend this to anyone looking to relax in a "wild" African atmosphere. And we will be coming back for sure! LIONSROCK LODGE IS A MUST SEE WHEN IN THE AREA by Doris Giddings 07 September 2017 My stopover at Lionsrock Lodge on the way to Clarens was an excellent idea. Although I stayed in the last wooden chalet to be renovated, it was perfect as I had my 2 Labradors with me and we were very comfortable. The views from the deck of the chalets and lodge are absolutely amazing. The staff at the lodge are all friendly, polite and willing to assist in any way possible. Although I did not get to go on the game drive, we could hear the lions roar and see other game from the deck. We enjoyed the walks and the part of the hiking trail that we got to do.
